Banyu: The Water Spirit

This project is a 2D animation production where I wanted to tell a fantastical story yet highlight an important issue in our world. Water. I wanted to showcase the importance of water and how we must protect it at all costs.

In a world where water has been long forgotten, a Water Seeker, Kaari, with rare abilities to connect to the spiritual realm, seeks to recover the Lost Spirit of Banyu to restore water to her world.

It took me around 5 weeks to create this animation from scratch, including story development, character designs, research, background designs, foley and more. I had the privilege to showcase the final draft animation to an audience and received anonymous reviews.
